Brewing the best coffee:

  • Use quality fresh roasted coffee whenever possible.
  • Grind the coffee as close to use as possible.
  • Use 1 Tbs of coffee per 6 ounce cup and then adjust for your tastes from there.
  • Always use fresh filtered water (chlorine will destroy the flavors and oils in the coffee)
  • Don't rush, we all like that first cup immediately.  Wait until the pot is finished brewing.
  • The oil in your cup?  It is supposed to be there...  :-)
  • Clean your pot and cups thoroughly (vinegar. denture cleaning tablets and many commercial cleaners do the trick)
  • Always start fresh.  Never reuse grounds.
  • A new pot should be brewed after an hour.
